Today I thought I would describe my grounding ritual I do when I am feeling anxiety, stress, or fearful thoughts.
So I like to sit cross legged on a bed or a couch, quiet if possible. Once seated and comfortable I close my eyes, and ask myself to notice my breath, sometimes I say it out loud, other times in my mind only.
Noticing the breath instantly helps being in the present moment, then when I am ready I take deep breaths in through my nose, and release it out my mouth, sometime with a sigh, depends on what I need at the time.
I then imagine big strong roots going into the center of the earth, for my highest good. Once I have grounded into the center of the earth, I tell myself to release any and all energies, thought, fears, anxieties, into the earth, to be composted and transmuted.
I will hold space for myself while I am releasing, sometimes it take a while, specially when I have time. Once you release, you want to replace it with something good, so I imagine the earth energies fill me up starting with my toes, I will also notice the warmth radiating, I will have that energy release aches and pains as it flows to my root chakra.
Then I will have the God/universal energy come down through my crown, also noticing the warmth as it travels to meet the earth energies at my root chakra. Then I image those energies combining and radiating and filling my whole body, and I will hold space again to allow the feeling of calm wash over me.
I know we are all going thru stressful days, and I wanted to provide something that I know helps me. I also have conversations with God, and floating up things to him as well, it doesn’t have to be God, just let it out of your body, mind and spirit. It does take practice, and if you find your mind won’t stop running, that is all part of the process. So keep at it.
