Some days are just about putting one foot in front of the other, it has been an ordinary day. So I am here making sure I continue taking care of myself.
Pouring love into myself on this very ordinary day, keeping up my consistency with cooking for myself, getting movement, exercise, showering, lol. Seriously water is very rejuvenating.
God was reminding me that not all days are meant to for big steps, I need to make room for rest, relaxing, allowing. So the past few days I have been working on that. Coming from an upbringing that it’s good to be a hard worker, that is the opposite of healthy.
I was taught growing up to work myself to the bone always, that’s not a healthy way to live, but society has taught a lot of us that. That is a generational pattern, chain that needs to be broken. Living a long healthy life means we need to allow our bodies to rest, power down our nervous system, let our mental health get to a calm state.
So I have to be intentional about it, I have learned to meditate, create art, swimming is a great release, releasing all those feelings of wanting to overwork my mind, and body. Channeling that energy for good, instead of allowing the old stories to keep me in an unhealthy state of mind.
Recognizing old stories, patterns is part of the healing process for me, and it’s so important. Continuing to break the chains, part of my calling, purpose here for myself and my ancestors. I hope I can inspire others to recognize their own unhealthy patterns, and break the patterns to free themselves. Amen!
